5 Thoughts For Tonight
5. I listened to Rush for the first time. It was the album that broke them through, 2112. I admit, when I heard that it was a concept album inspired by the writings of Ayn Rand, it made me sympathetic.
4. I've heard of Rush, I'd just never heard anything by them.
3. I prefer music I can sing to, but it was undoubtedly interesting.
2. I wonder if the band Ludo likes Rush?
1. I did this because Joel Durrwachter (indirectly) told me to do it.

Many thanks, Jason. I'm not one to defend all of what Rush made, but they seem to be a rock band that gets overlooked in the history of rock and roll.
As far as the album you are describing, it seems like rock critics almost unanimously argue that "Moving Pictures" (1981) was their best. (You can see reviews at www.allmusic.com) The reference to Ayn Rand, I think, it explicit in "Anthem" off of "Fly By Night" (1975)
Allmusic is a place that I regularly visit for reviews and info about artists. Plus, on "Moving Pictures," you have to give credit for "Red Barchetta" as a pretty cool song about a car. Not only is the tune catchier than something like "Little Deuce Coupe" or even "Little Red Corvette," but it is a rock and roll song that paints a vivid experience with a car and a family member. Quite a story, I think. ;)
