4. Seriously, though, Lou Gehrig was a beast. Look at those RBI. The Most Valuable Player typically drives in 140 runs. Just think about that. An elite season is 100.

3. .340 career average. Hall of Famer of the class of 2014, Frank Thomas, hit .301 for his career.

2. Gehrig's batting average is 2 points higher than that of the greatest hitter I ever saw, Tony Gwynn, who hit .338.
