Also think there is a sad narrowness of mind about these issues. On the left, everything bad is laid at the feet of either white nationalism or guns. On the right, the favorite scapegoats are immigrants and liberal academics. Everyone finds a way to feel innocent. Yet the real cultural rot crosses all the political and demographic lines. Sexual immorality, abandonment of children, and unnecessary violence are often excused and even promoted by the institutions of our society, left or right, leading to divorce and other cross-partisan evils.
I wish we had/wanted who could look beyond their ideological blinders to the real pain and wickedness.
